'... Painting is a matter of subtraction. Noises of reality are removed, and the selected takes place in a frame, following a new set of rules. With the purpose of materialising the unseen world, the subject is rendered with pure colours and tender emotions. Its elaborate form is translated with materials on paper and brushstrokes. The coloured surface and refined figure create an awakening, imbuing a new value into a world we were indifferent to, the world with a new name. A place once overlooked is now called by a different name, and presents itself to me with clarity.'
